Accessibility

We want participants, parents, carers and leaders to be able to use the Big Day Out website. It is built and maintained by a volunteer Scout leader.

Using the website

You can enlarge text using your browser’s zoom controls and move between links and form controls using a keyboard. Policy pages use headings, visible keyboard focus and a skip link. Your browser or device may also provide text-to-speech, contrast and magnification tools.

Known limitations

The visual organiser map relies on aerial imagery and spatial controls. It may not provide an equivalent experience for someone using a screen reader or keyboard alone. Ask the event team for written directions or planning information if the map is difficult to use.

The whole website has not had an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim full compliance with an accessibility standard.

Ask for help or report a problem

Email CCdownandconnorscouts@gmail.com with the page address, what you were trying to do and the format or assistance you need. Include your browser or assistive technology if you know it. Your group leader can also help obtain event information in another format.

For activity access or participant support needs, speak to your group leader and the event team before the event. Website accessibility and the suitability of an activity are separate matters.
